About

Preston Stahly

Portraiture and Headshots are a collaboration — a shared space where energy, personality, and story come into focus. Whether for bios, casting, social media, or business, I look to capture the essence of each person I photograph, creating images that feel honest, expressive, and alive.

The Corona Portraits Project began during the pandemic in 2020, when daily life in my West Harlem neighborhood was transformed. I was moved by the resilience and humanity I saw on the faces of strangers determined to cope. Compelled to document this moment, I began photographing people on the street — a project that grew into an ongoing series of Street Portraits. That experience reshaped my approach to portrait photography and deepened my connection to the human spirit behind every image.

Astrophotography has offered another dimension of reflection — capturing the vastness of the cosmos through visual and musical expression. My work in this area has been presented with the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York, The Cell Theater, SoHo Photo Gallery, Tribeca New Music Festival, The DiMenna Center, Merkin Concert Hall, and the Reuben Fleet Science Center in San Diego.
